The Placer Sierra Fire Safe Council will be holding its first Scotch Broom Challenge event for this year on April 7th from 09:00 to 12:00.  Everyone will meet up at the Monte Vista parking lot in Dutch Flat and as I recall they will be doing the second treatment at this location.  Tools will be provided and the only thing that you will need to bring is a pair of gloves and a water bottle.  From last years reports everyone had a good time at last years event.  Placer County Supervisor Jennifer Montgomery was using a weed wrench with the rest of the team last year and may be there for this event as well.

For those that don't know Scotch Broom is an invasive plant that is a severe fire hazard.  It is going to be a scary year for fire so we need to rid ourselves of as much as possible.  It will be a good chance to get some outdoor exercise and everyone working gets a free lunch.
